Avery Somersgill Fund for Inquisitive Girls
This gift was made in memory of Avery Somersgill by her parents and family, who was both the smartest and silliest person they have known. Curiosity was a driving force for Avery early on. She was a natural student, eager to understand the world around her. Although Avery excelled in all areas of study, it was science that became a home for her curiosity. She was also keenly aware of social barriers, such as gender, gender identity, and socioeconomic status, that limit opportunities for young people. Her family is proud to honour Avery by supporting a barrier-free organization that both ignites and nurtures the curiosity that is at the heart of understanding how our world works.
