Douglas and Jennifer Mann Scholarship

Douglas James Mann, born 29 January 1951 and died 25 April 2022, was an alum of the 51³Ô¹Ï Faculty of Education. He was an extraordinary human, gentle, kind, and thoughtful, the likes of which occur very rarely. He appreciated the arts in all of its forms. Late in life, he learned to play the mandolin very well. "Our love of music was only eclipsed by our love for one another," Jennifer Mann wrote.

This scholarship in music will be offered to students in honour of Douglas. Jennifer believes it is of immense solace to create something beautiful out of the tragedy of his death and to know that in a very small way, they will both be part of a student’s musical journey, now and in the future.
