Ralston S Alexander, KC Memorial Award

Ralston Alexander, K.C. continued to practice law at the time of his passing on June 29th, 2024, aged 79 years old. This demonstrates his passion and commitment to the law and his clients. Over his more than 50 years at the bar, he served his clients, colleagues and student lawyers conscientiously and always with a sense of humour.

His contribution went beyond his immediate sphere of influence. This was accomplished through acting as President of the 51³Ô¹Ï Bar Association in 1986, being elected as a bencher from 1999 to 2005, and becoming the President of the Law Society of BC in 2005. Ralston’s commitment to service was demonstrated through his work at the United Way locally, and then becoming a Director and Chair of United Way Canada. Ralston also served on the 51³Ô¹Ï & Esquimalt Police Board, Need Crisis Line, and Rotary Club of 51³Ô¹Ï Housing Society.

This award has been founded in his name to encourage and support aspiring lawyers who will hopefully continue in his footsteps and practice with the passion, integrity and dedication to service, that he continually displayed over his impactful career.
