Reliable Controls Award in Computer Science

This award has been established by Reliable Controls to honour its founder and president, Roland Laird, on the occasion of his retirement in December 2019. Roland founded Reliable Controls in 1986 and has grown the company to be one of the region's most successful high-tech companies.

It is an award-winning Canadian company that designs, develops and manufactures Internet-connected building controls and automation products all across the globe. The products are used to monitor and control the energy of mechanical and electrical equipment found in every kind of building you can imagine.

Reliable Controls has been a steadfast supporter of UVic engineering and computer science, hiring both co-op students and graduates, helping train and mentor the next generation of engineers and computer scientists.
