Graduate Studies
Empowering Change, Centering Justice.
The MA and PhD programs in Child, Youth, Family & Community Studies at UVic prepare graduates to lead with compassion, critical insight, and a deep commitment to equity. Rooted in social justice, decolonization, and relational practice, our program equips students with advanced research, clinical, and leadership skills relevant in diverse professional and academic settings. Our alumni highlight the program’s impact on their ability to navigate complex systems, engage in ethical practice, and create meaningful change for children, youth, families, and communities. Whether working locally or globally, our graduates carry forward a politicized, reflective, and transformative approach to their work and scholarship.
Our MA and PhD graduates assume leadership roles at provincial, national and international levels in the broad field of child and youth care. Our graduate programs also prepare students for advanced practice, supervision, policy analyst and research positions. Most of our graduates find employment in their chosen area.
