Bio
Pierre-Luc Landry (he/they) is a writer, literary director, queer activist, and professor of literary, media, and cultural studies. He was born in 1984 in Saint-Antoine-de-Pontbriand, in the old Appalachians mountains of Québec. He grew up in the Thetford Mines region, on the ancestral w8banaki territory, in a Québec settler family with distant European origins.
Pierre-Luc Landry studied history at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal and graduated from Université Laval with a degree in literature studies, specializing in creative writing and writing for the media. He also obtained a master's degree and a PhD in research-creation from the same university. Pierre-Luc was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Ottawa and furthered his studies at the University of Lorraine in France and at the Oregon State University in the United States.
He has taught at the Cégep de l'Outaouais, the Université Laval, the University of Ottawa, and the Royal Military College of Canada. Since 2019, he is based at the 51³Ô¹Ï, on the territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, where he teaches French and Francophone studies within the School of Languages, Linguistics, and Cultures, and is affiliated with the Media Studies and Cultural, Social, and Political Thought programs.

Il est né en 1984 à Saint-Antoine-de-Pontbriand, dans les vieilles Appalaches, au Québec. Il a grandi dans la région de Thetford Mines, sur le territoire ancestral w8banaki, au sein d’une famille québécoise settler aux lointaines origines européennes.
Pierre-Luc Landry a mené des études d’histoire au Cégep du Vieux-Montréal et est diplômé en études littéraires, concentration création littéraire et médiatique, de l’Université Laval. Il a également obtenu une maîtrise et un doctorat de recherche-création de la même université. Pierre-Luc a été chercheur postdoctoral à l’Université d’Ottawa et s’est perfectionné à l’Université de Lorraine, en France, et à la Oregon State University, aux États-Unis.
Il a enseigné au Cégep de l’Outaouais, à l’Université Laval, à l’Université d’Ottawa et au Collège militaire royal du Canada. Depuis 2019, il est basé à l’Université de 51³Ô¹Ï, sur le territoire des peuples Lək̓ʷəŋən et W̱SÁNEĆ, où il enseigne les études françaises et francophones au sein de la School of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures et est affilié aux programmes Media Studies et Cultural, Social and Political Thought.
